"Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock." - 1 Peter 5:2-3

Firstly, thank you for considering me to represent Shakopee, Minnesota, a city that is steeped in rich history and heritage, and one that continues to grow and thrive as a community and one I am proud to call home.

Shakopee is known for its strong values, hardworking people, and its commitment to the American dream. Our city is a testament to the principles that I hold dear: individual freedom, limited government, and a strong and vibrant economy.

Under proper leadership, Shakopee will continue to surge in job creation and responsible economic growth. Our businesses are thriving, and our residents are enjoying new opportunities for employment and prosperity. We will make investments in our infrastructure, ensuring that our city remains safe, clean, and attractive to new residents and businesses alike while curbing wasteful spending practices to keep taxes low and stop the levee from continuing to increase.

In addition, Shakopee has a long history of supporting our military and our veterans, and I am proud to say that my commitment to these aspects is at the forefront of my campaign. Our residents understand the sacrifices that our service members make to protect our freedoms, and we are dedicated to supporting them and their families in every way possible.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the strong community spirit that exists in Shakopee. Our city is home to some of the most passionate and dedicated people I have ever had the privilege to know, and it is this spirit that makes Shakopee a truly special place to live, work, and raise a family. The relationships I have made from dining with farmers at Wampach's to the attorneys at the courthouse where I have tried cases are irreplacable.

In conclusion, I am proud to call Shakopee my home, and I am proud to be considered to represent this great city. Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you today, and may God bless Shakopee and the United States of America.

Ian Aleksander Osborn was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 18,1989 to parents Connie Lofgren (daughter of John and Joan Lofgren) and Alan Osborn (son of Mary-Ann and Stanley Osborn). From an early age he was deemed to be a gifted student and was well liked by his peers as well as his instructors. He demonstrated personable social skills and was naturally keen in the areas of mathematics and social sciences. He attended Ruth Hill Elementary School, Scott Middle School. and Southwest High School before receiving a scholarship to attend Hiram College in Ohio. While at Hiram College, Ian became focused on mental health psychology and the pursuit of helping veterans who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. He transferred to Heidelberg University in Ohio citing their exceptional mental health psychology department.

Following his graduation from Heidelberg University, Ian was recommended to take the law-school entrance exams due to his academic achievements. He received high marks and was awarded with a scholarship to return to his home state to attend the University of Nebraska College of Law. Following his second year at the school, Ian underwent an intensive heart and chest surgery that left him with permanent damage and alterations to his abilties; he had to relearn to walk, speak, and even how to move his eyes. Despite the new impairments, Ian returned to the law college and graduated in 2015 with distinction and specific recognition from the dean.

Undeterred by an uncertain future fraught with new challenges, Ian again struck out to pursue a career in Minnesota in 2016 where he continues to work as an attorney. Knowing that he refuses to be seen as a victim or one defined by tragedy, he seeks to better the world around him in any way he can.
